My Experience

Since my undergraduate career, I have been passionate about dismantling the hidden curriculum in academia. I spent 3 years in undergrad mentoring first-year psychology students on how to make the most of their psychology degree to reach their long term career goals. During my four years of post-bacc, I mentored 12 research assistants where I co-supervised 3 honors theses and 3 independent research projects. As a graduate student, I am involved in multiple national mentorship programs including Next Gen Psych, Psychin' Out, and the Academy for Eating Disorders where I provide mentorship to scholars looking to apply for post-bacc jobs or graduate school.

My Mentorship Philosophy

Each person I work with has their own needs and existing support, so I personalize my mentorship based on what you need from me. I strive for a compassionate and collaborative approach to mentorship where we work as a team to help you reach your goals. Additionally, I value work-life balance, so I help my mentees find balance during the job and grad school application processes.

Mentorship Types

How do I support my mentees?

Research Jobs

I support people who are interested in applying for post-bacc research coordinator, research assistant, lab manager, or other research related jobs through the entire process. I provide detailed feedback on job application materials (e.g., CV, cover letter), conduct mock interviews, provide sample interview questions, and talk through what job offers may be a good fit.

Grad School Prep

I help undergraduate and post bacc scholars figure out what they may need to strengthen their application before applying to graduate programs. This support may include helping with the job application process, connecting scholars with labs they are interested in, finding resources, and developing a research line.

Grad School Applications

I support applicants by helping them develop and maintain deadlines for application steps, develop their list of mentors, providing detailed feedback on application materials, providing sample interview questions, conducting mock interviews, talking through offers, discussing next steps for those who may not receive an offer, and providing encouragement and moral support throughout the process.

Resources

Interested in mentorship?

Since I am a graduate student, my schedule is very busy. Unfortunately, this means I can't provide one-on-one mentorship to everyone. Regardless, please reach out if you are interested in mentorship! If I don't have availability at the moment, I can provide resources that may be helpful for you.
